Navy Federal Credit Union (or Navy Federal) is a credit union headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, chartered and regulated under the authority of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) of the U.S. federal government. Navy Federal is the largest natural member (or retail) credit union in the world, both in asset size and in membership. As of April 2008, Navy Federal had over $35 billion USD in assets, and over 3 million members.

Navy Federal offers both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. They also have some interest-only options. You can get a conventional loan for up to $417,000 or a jumbo mortgage up to $2 million. The credit union offers Balloon Mortgages, which give lower initial interest rates and lower monthly payments with options for re-financing at the end of the 7 year term. For the first-time home buyer, NFCU has a no down payment option called Homebuyer�s Choice.
